Located in north-western South Australia 160km from the Northern Territory border, Marla marks the start of the famous Oodnadatta Track.
The unsealed Oodnadatta Track, which passes Lake Eyre en route to Marree, follows a traditional Aboriginal trading route and is the original path of The Ghan before the new stretch of railway was laid in 1980.
