Experience Adelaide by foot. Stretch your legs whilst being introduced to the city of Adelaide by your walking guide (alternatively you may wish to stay on the coach). Hear stories about the old and new of the North Terrace precinct, how Adelaide got its name and the many quirky facts that not many people know of.
Adelaide is the site of many government and financial institutions, most of which are concentrated in the city centre along the cultural boulevards of North Terrace and King William Street. See the South Australian Museum, Art Gallery and Universities before walking through the Adelaide Botanic Garden. The Adelaide Botanic Garden is a 125 acre public garden at the north-east corner of the Adelaide city centre. Here you will walk through only a small section before arriving at the National Wine Centre for your evening experience.
There are 120 different wines available for tasting at the National Wine Centre thanks to the state-of-the-art Enomatic wine preservation and dispensing machines where you can choose, pour and taste every wine – from Penfolds’ famous Grange to the boutique wine labels.
Join the Wine Discovery Journey, to understand the role wine has played in history, recognise the position of Australian wine in today’s international market and appreciate the relationship between food and wine. You’ll be sure to work up an appetite so we’ve included a delicious dinner featuring canapés and an indulgent two course menu, before returning to the Indian Pacific to continue your journey.
