From April 2018, the Indian Pacific will take to the peaks as well as the plains, offering an optional Off Train Excursion in the picturesque Blue Mountains for all departures from Perth. Take in the beauty of this World Heritage listed landscape via the scenic walkways and cable car before continuing your journey into Sydney. 

From April 2018 and for the first time ever, guests travelling from Perth to Sydney will be able to disembark in the Blue Mountains and relish in the expansive views and natural surrounds before completing their journey to cosmopolitan Sydney. Take a walk through the eucalypt forests or take the cable car for a birds’ eye view of this World Heritage listed landscape.

For the first time next year, those travelling eastbound on the Indian Pacific will have the chance to step off in the Blue Mountains to discover this picturesque part of the country. Be it by walking trail or from high up in the cable car, guests will be able to immerse themselves in the World Heritage listed natural surrounds before continuing their journey to Sydney. 

Arrive into Mt Victoria Station around 9am where you can disembark the train and transfer via coach to Scenic World in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains. Enjoy access to all 3 experiences: Cableway, Skyway, Railway and then transfer by coach to Echo Point lookout, a great vantage point to take in the spectacular panoramic views and stunning Three Sisters.

Alternatively guests seeking a little more activity will also have the option to enjoy the Prince Henry Cliff Walk to the top of Katoomba Falls providing beautiful views across the Jamison Valley.

This excursion will also include Morning Tea after which guests are then transferred to Katoomba Station for a scenic train ride continuing on through the Blue Mountains into Sydney Central Station
